Diversity at Roarke
Roarke’s goal is to make our services as accessible to the most variety of groups as possible, with a particular focus on making regenerative agriculture available to historically underserved communities, especially those most threatened by the impacts of local environmental destruction. If you are a community leader interested in creating an initiative, please contact communitypartners@roarke.org to schedule a meeting.
Roarke’s board is made stronger by diverse perspectives–Our team is composed of a variety of individuals from different backgrounds that span the cultural spectrum and even international borders. Specific insights that only those from local communities, historically marginalized groups, and those with non-traditional forms of self-expression are crucial to making our decisions well-rounded and impactful in the right ways. We regularly update our Candid profile with statistics on the constitution of our board.
While our board collectively discloses demographic data related to certain aspects of our identity, we recognize that individually disclosing identifiers may make our board members vulnerable to discrimination or hate as a result of immutable characteristics. Although there are those of us privileged to not have to worry about these issues, we stand in solidarity with those that are forced to. We will not disclose the demographic data of specific individuals, even at the request of grantmakers, as we do not feel it is necessary to understand our collective identity or values.
