ROARKE REGENERATIVE LAND MANAGEMENT

FAQs

  • Roarke is nothing without partners that believe in our mission. We treasure the relationships we have with others committed to a similar vision of a greener future, and are very open to new forms of collaboration. We are open to hearing your ideas, with our only caveat being that joint ventures must largely adhere to a sustainable or environmentally-friendly ethos. Some examples of projects we are interested in pursuing in the future include:

    • More collaborations between Roarke and manufacturers of sustainably sourced goods for special releases or new innovations.

    • Partnerships with educational institutions looking to use Roarke land for environmental studies or research.

    • Corporate sponsors looking to show their commitment to carbon neutrality by offsetting operations, or by donating land for Roarke management.

If you or your organization has an idea or interest in pursuing a joint venture with Roarke, please contact us at partners@roarke.org with some additional details, and one of our Partners will reach out to you. We look forward to future collaboration with you.

  • Roarke may supply subsidized or free trees to external programs upon request. However, we may decline if we believe our resources are better utilized towards our own programs.

  • Yes, we love partnering with like-minded charitable organizations. Joint ventures can be single events, seasonal or limited time partnerships, or even open-ended. Reach out to partners@roarke.org with the details of your prospective venture.

We do respectfully ask that requests are relevant to our mission.

  • Roarke supports a number of causes and missions that we believe run in tandem with our own, namely those interested in reducing fossil fuel emissions or dependency on fossil fuels. Clean nuclear energy, renewables, consumer product oversight to reduce trash, animal welfare, ocean health, and many more individual efforts focused on specific issues–all of these contribute to our vision of a future in harmony with nature.

We do support humanitarian causes, but believe our expertise and endorsement is infinitely more meaningful when it is applied to environmental causes. We hope our community interprets our lack of statements on external issues not germane to ecological concerns as not a lack of interest on a personal level, but rather tacit support for allowing more informed voices to speak for us in important conversations.

Partnerships

  • Yes, arrangements can be made–and often, prices are dramatically lower than any other lumber or bulk wood sellers. However, there are some guidelines you should consider before applying.

    • Intended uses must not be consumable. Wood burning is not allowed.

    • Lumber is raw and untreated.

    • Transportation must be arranged by the purchaser from harvesting sites.

Roarke offers special discounts to woodworkers or contractors who can prove intentions to implement use in long-term builds, as well as educators and programs similar to Habitat for Humanity.

Contact communitypartners@roarke.org with a general proposal, including location and material supply request.

  • Yes, we do have some projects that we are working on logistics with and regulatory compliance for before public announcement. At this time, we are keeping them private in order to ensure their long-term viability and alignment with our core values. Additionally, at any time we may be working on certain initiatives in partnership with external organizations that are kept private at their discretion until an announcement date. All of our current projects are listed here

We do not allocate funds from general donations to projects unlisted on this site. Our general fund is only used on current, public projects.

  • No, we do not participate in lobbying of any kind. Our stances on issues that have been politicized can be extrapolated from our commitment to mitigating the effects of climate change. We will decline to comment on issues that do not directly affect the work we do. For all press inquiries, contact press@roarke.org or fill out the form here.

  • We do offer limited visits on special occasions, as well as granting some camping permits. However, please contact press@roarke.org to schedule a visit if neither of these opportunities has been presented to you, before visiting our parcels. Oftentimes we have many low-lying species that have been introduced recently enough to be vulnerable to trampling by negligent visitors, or we have ecosystems we are attempting to keep untouched. Our flora and fauna friends thank you for your restraint. Trespassers are unwelcome, and may be prosecuted if appropriate.

  • Thank you for your vigilance–please contact parcels@roarke.org with details and any images you can provide. If your situation does not match one of those below, please still notify us.

    • If the damage is due to natural disaster in the area, it is likely we are aware and formulating a response. Contact parcels@roarke.org.

    • If the damage appears natural due to decay or regular weather, we will rectify the damage usually within the next maintenance cycle or as we have resources available for a spot-check. Contact parcels@roarke.org

    • If the damage looks to be a result of disease or infestation, please contact parcels@roarke.org after notifying relevant local authorities, like your state’s Department of Agriculture, Forestry, Wildlife, etc. Rapid responses will be created to attempt to contain invasive or destructive species.

    • If the damage is vandalism or appears intentional, please contact legal@roarke.org with any details you feel may be relevant to obtaining a conviction. Please be advised that we may cite your report in our own talks with law enforcement or in legal actions.

If the damage does not fit one of these categories, but presents a clear and present danger to any members of the public, please do not hesitate to contact emergency services near you before contacting parcels@roarke.org. Ensure your own safety and that of others before contacting us.

  • No–in most circumstances we attempt to retain and protect ecosystems under our care for as long as possible. We may be able to initiate a Roarke planting on your own property, but we decline many offers to purchase our land, as many land developments run antithetical to our mission.

If a parcel of Roarke land is of particular interest to you, you may inquire about its availability. However, be prepared for two large and uncompromising caveats to any potential agreement:

    • The parcel may not have its ecosystem destabilized in any way that would cause existing species or animals to be unsupported.  You may be expected to retain Roarke projects for an extended period of time if this is not possible without them.

    • Roarke will seek a value that allows us to acquire a piece of land in the same general area of the same size or larger.

All requests are processed through parcels@roarke.org. Interests that are diametrically opposed to our ethos and mission should not apply.

Operations

  • We love to connect with the community and collaborate on projects! Please reach out to communitypartners@roarke.org with a brief description of your geographic location, availability, and how you’d like to volunteer. We are somewhat limited in what external resources we can make use of at any time, but we love to keep information on hand in-case we expand in your area.

  • Yes, we’ve expanded our donation support to better facilitate donations of valuable items or mission-specific materials. Further information regarding categories like real estate, art/collectibles, vehicles, or other consumer goods can be found in this section. If you have any additional questions, or have a donation request you feel falls outside these categories, please reach out to donations@roarke.org.

  • Roarke Regenerative Land Management is grateful for and can process certain donations of land or property, subject to restrictions very dependent on local municipalities. This includes all types of real estate, usually at deductible rates close to or at market value. Some helpful information to have on hand:

    • Deed information and authorization to sell the property if acting on behalf of the owner.

    • Any zoning information, as current as possible.

    • Assessed value and assessor contact information.

Be prepared to sign a statement attesting there are no holds, outstanding liens, or other debts associated with the property. If you’d like to submit a real estate donation or request more information, please reach out to donations@roarke.org with general property information and one of our agents will be able to assist.

  • Roarke appreciates your contribution, but requires some information first. Please have this on hand before contacting us.

    • Ownership information or authorization from the owner if acting on their behalf.

    • Assessed value, or estimated value you seek to claim.

We cannot accept assessments of Fair Market Value without independent verification in accordance with our personal interpretation of due diligence. Please consult IRS Publication 561 for more information on restrictions we abide by. Be prepared to sign a statement attesting there are no other claims against the ownership of the donated items. If you’d like to submit an item or artwork for donation, please contact donations@roarke.org, and one of our agents will be able to assist.

  • Roarke thanks you for your consideration. We do accept donations of property, like consumer goods, at retail valuation, or at comparable market value if retail is no longer available. Some guidelines to keep in mind:

    • Property must be in new or like new condition, unless collectibility or function is unimpacted by condition.

    • Property must not be intended to be consumable.

    • Property will need to be mailed to Roarke Regenerative Land Management, so consider necessities of packaging or delivery.

Please reach out to donations@roarke.org for additional information or to submit a donation.

  • In most cases, no. There are limited exceptions to this rule. You are still encouraged to reach out to donations@roarke.org with vehicle information, as we do seriously consider every proposal.
