ROARKE REGENERATIVE LAND MANAGEMENT
Roarke exists to ensure a future in harmony with nature.
It’s our vision statement, after all—Roarke Regenerative Land Management is dedicated to restoring natural ecosystems through reforestation and land conservation while providing high-quality, verifiable carbon credits. We prioritize land deforested by commercial logging or natural events, ensuring that forests and local environments are restored to what they once were. Through a mix of replanting, new planting, revitalization of existing flora, reintroduction of native pollinators, and restoration of watershed effects, Roarke builds the natural infrastructure defoliated land needs to not just survive, but thrive for many generations to come. Our global community is always expanding, and our impact is always increasing as Roarke partners with forward-thinking companies and individuals to provide accessible, impactful ways to reduce and offset emissions in pursuit of a carbon-neutral future.
Tastemaker’s long-time partner, Roarke Regenerative Land Management, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that runs programs to reforest degraded land and sustainably manage ecosystems, progressing towards global carbon neutrality. Roarke’s marketplace is hosted by Tastemaker as part of an ongoing commitment to support initiatives that further the Tastemaker ethos of sustainable practices and improving environmental impacts. Tastemaker does receive commission for any sales rendered through this site.
Current Projects
Reforestation
Roarke’s primary focus is restoring logged or otherwise denuded land by replanting native trees with precision efficiency. Topography is measured, mapped, and modeled to create ideal planting patterns that maximize the ability of trees to grow long-term without intersecting umbras impeding others’ growth. Once trees are planted, they can be expected to achieve the maximum possible lifespan and growth, meaning more efficient carbon capture and sequestration over the same period of time than most untouched land.
The same scientific methodology is followed for community plantings, where individual property owners can contract Roarke to plant forests and orchards on barren land for often no cost, creating lasting and beautiful groves that act as natural carbon sinks on previously empty land. Those looking to inquire about Roarke’s availability to plant on their land should reach out to community@roarke.org
Land Enrichment
Our belief in creating lasting ecosystems extends to existing forests that are struggling or stagnant in their growth. We introduce pollinators and plant new, native plants suited to existing conditions to enrich cross-pollination and biodiversity, which, in concert with aquatic engineering like artificial streams and demi-lune embankments, create growth spikes in existing forests, and thus, increases in their resilience and carbon capture potential over time.
Grantors, private donors, and corporate partners looking to invest in Roarke’s vision of a greener future should contact donations@roarke.org with the relevant details of their interest.
Roarke was born from a passion project on researching what it would take to go carbon neutral. Several members of what is now our Board of Directors took it upon themselves to research, plan, and implement the most efficient way to achieve that goal—now we’re offering the infrastructure for you to do the same. We partner with everyone from individuals to corporate entities who are interested in achieving their own reduced carbon footprint, a global community that celebrates the diversity of our backgrounds, all of us brought together and united by one vision of “A World Made New.”
