  • Distinctions - Fine printing and Cobb Vanth's accessories in his blaster and helmet provide specific details that make this Funko a solid depiction of a more niche character.

Criticisms - Typical Funko Pop! quality and top heavy design make Cobb Vanth unstable for standing on his own outside of the packaging. No stand is provided, and with the reality of many owners keeping the Pop in its packaging as storage and display, no new innovations have been made.

  • Distinctions - Print and patterning are relatively crisp and vibrantly colorful.

Criticisms - Typical Funko Pop! quality with greasy cheap vinyl coating make color quality the only appealing elements of this design, other than the core draw of Cobb Vanth himself. Machining around the accessories and helmet is somewhat distinct but tolerances do not feel so strong across multiple iterations, nor is the design so realistic to not warrant criticism. Minimal protective coating makes damage from falls and sun-fading prevalent if not stored carefully, presumably in either retail packaging or a secondary product.

  • Distinctions - The design is distinctly Cobb Vanth, depicted at the peak of his on-screen action in full armor, likely the most appealing version of his design.

Criticisms - Wear blemishes the design greatly with time unless stored ‘properly’ in a UV filtering case. Funko’s trademark black-eyed big-head design is nothing to write home about. As with all Funko Pop! products, the appeal is cohesion in collection rather than compatibility with a wide array of environments. The size and fine details of the figure will not mesh with the majority of household color palettes and displays. The proportions are provably unnatural and look far more like a toy than a display piece. With producers like Bearbrick that establish large enough canvases and simple but intricate designs with standardization outside of single design elements and a general stance, Funko’s attempt at a consumable collectible is, as usual, cash-grabby and uninspired.

  • Criticisms - Again, typically Funko complaints to be had with cheap vinyl and cheap packaging elements. Without storage elements, both Cobb Vanth and the packaging are extraordinarily vulnerable to regular household jarring and damage, especially if separated from the original packaging. There is an extremely small second-hand market for out of packaging Funko collectibles, with an incredibly harsh and exacting standard placed upon resale of new or like-new Funko collectibles. By providing a collectible that enummerates itself as part of a set to encourage collecting the rest, as well as providing a design that requires additional products for proper display without packaging for either longevity or better showcasing, Funko has nothing but negatives to offer from a sustainability perspective.

  • Distinctions - A lower initial cost than other physical statues or figures, the #484 Cobb Vanth Funko is at the very least, affordable on its own. There are few other depictions of Cobb Vanth available physically.

Criticisms - Amidst other collectibles and merch created for Star Wars, the Funko is the lowest value for size when compared to cost. Amidst other collectibles, art and toys, the Funko design is cheap, not overly engineered or designed, and not inherently appealing to anyone not a fan of Cobb Vanth. With no second-hand market or real intrinsic value, the Cobb Vanth Funko Pop! Star Wars #484 is just another example of encouraged overconsumption creep for consumers with a vested interest the Star Wars franchise. Similarly, choosing a character with low screen-time and a middling fan response consciously targets a demographic of 'collectors' rather than casual fans, a poor motivation for the associated sustainability blow.
